 MOON

I cry to the winds

hear no answer

cry all night

the stars are cold

beg for your arms

you hug yourself:

The moon waxes

and wanes

never grows warmer.

THE SORCERER

He                               He                               He

walks                           runs                             eyes me

nonchalantly                 to                                up and down

my way                        the next                        unexpectledly

picks off                      one                              inflicts

someone                      on                                vanishing trick

on my right                   the list

wham                          mustn’t             and job done

bam                             waste                           ticks off

he’s gone                     time                             my name

crunch                         those                            before

scrunch                        who know                   jogging

then whirls                   wait                             off – on

towards me                  their turn                      again

twirling his                    he turns                        now you’re here

magic stick                   like a top                      now you’re not.

turns away –                 throws stardust

to smite                        to dazzle

another day.                 comes to a stop.                      AERONWY  THOMAS

THE SEA IS CALLING ME

i think the sea is calling me,
im dreaming of being a sea gull,
on the waves of the glossy air,
medium between blue sky and water
so happy
and so very lonely.

i think the sea is calling me,
last night i was chased by a seal,
trying to close the door
in my head,
but it didnt work out
again.

i think the sea is calling me,
i couldnt move my hands in the morning,
like they were still asleep
swimming in the subconscious ocean,
but the dawn was already up
and dry.

Ples šumskih vila

Gle!

To vile šume plešu!?

U zanosu života koji buja…

…dok mene san povlači

u svjetove čudesne.

SHE

The male spider lurks.

A spider with winsome

Jaws appears

To notice him.

She, femme fatale,

Sharpens her attributes

Bulging eyes rotating

Resting on him,

He knew it,

Antennae touching

As they dance

In a last

Embrace.

She consumes him

With no grace.

And you,

Not trusting,

Thinking I’m flirting

With veiled, promising look

Prior to

Consummation

                    OPEN THE GATE

Open the cage

let the parakeet out

suburban gardens

woodland parks

Pour the fish bowl

down the drain

the sewer

ocean wave

Leave the garden gate

unlatched

dogs walk out

birds sing

Open

the night window

let the stars in.

DAUGHTER

Curled like a starfish

My daughter bites her own tail.

Brought in by breakers

She rests on a sandbank.

I watch her breath

Awash in sleep.

The moon lights

Her watery face.

Stranded in dreams

She smiles in sleep.

I paddle in the shallows

Fall and swirl

In the eddies of her hair

Moonlit and fantastic

Gathering strength

From the turn of the tide.

In the early morning

I’ll leave her

Curled in froth.

INFINITY

Infinity can travel

linger in the present

and wander into the future,

returning

to give advice

on how to conduct ourselves

in the present

with hindsight

and foresight.

Think of the mistakes

I could avoid: present

future

(those past are too late).

Yet I’d rather be foolish

and do without

the perspective

Infinity can bring,

make my mistakes as usual

and face the consequences

like everyone else.
